A nikah invitation opens with the Bismillah, names the families extending the invitation, gives the nikah with its date, time and masjid or venue, and then separately gives the walima. Many families print a verse from Surah Ar-Rum. Copy the blocks below and change the names; the notes explain where practice differs between families.
The opening
The Bismillah is printed at the head of the card, centred and usually in Arabic script with a transliteration or translation beneath it.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Raheem
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The verse most often printed on nikah cards is Surah Ar-Rum 30:21, which is about marriage directly. It usually sits below the Bismillah, set smaller.
"And among His signs is that He created for you mates from among yourselves,
that you may dwell in tranquillity with them,
and He has put love and mercy between your hearts."
— Surah Ar-Rum, 30:21
Who invites, and how names are given
The bride's family customarily hosts the nikah and the groom's family hosts the walima, so the two cards often carry different hosts. Where one card covers both, both families are named.

Timing is commonly given relative to prayers — "after Zuhr", "following Jumu'ah" — as well as by the clock. Giving both is the most useful, since guests travelling from a distance need a clock time.
Walima and mehendi cards
The walima is the groom's family's reception and is usually a wider invitation than the nikah itself. It reads warmly and is often the card most guests receive.

Cards are often printed bilingually, with Urdu or Malayalam alongside English depending on where the family is from. If you are sending digitally, sending the same card in two languages is free, which is one of the few genuine advantages digital has here.
Noor is built for a nikah — geometric, unfigured, with the nikah and walima as separate cards on one link.
